Re the poster who said that Next do this......
I really fancy a Next catalogue, (via Quidco of course! :money: )
But when I went to order one, I actually read through the T's & C's and saw that they do a credit check...even if you pay by debit card for any order!
    And I thought " what a cheek!!" and didn't bother.
Would still like one though, if only to get their VIP sale slots!

This has happened to me with littlewoods when a woman stopped me in the street and she never said I would get a credit check-she just asked if I was 18 (but we're talking over 3 years ago) and a year later I got a catalogue (bearing in mind I never gave them the address I was living at, at the time)-this has really annoyed me because I have moved again and today i got some junk from them saying I had won a prize draw and a voucher to save money off purchases with them. I am a little annoyed that I found them on my equifax report (but not in experian incidentally) and it's just annoying as I have no intention of ordering from them. I hate waiting for products to arrive and I work full time so it's difficult to get the deliveries.

Another warning too, Moneysupermarket.com, that price comparision site, they credit search you too via the comapnies they search under. I am annoyed by this because I was looking for car insurance quotes for both me and my gran on a car because we were both thinking of buying it. For some reason it has credit searched me and also then performed a second search with my grandma's date of birth UNDER MY NAME!!
Please be wary of this as I never knew they credit searched me and it didn't state that in the terms and conditions, or at least it didn't make it apparent-maybe someone could help me on this one or maybe I can have the searches removed as I never agreed to them!
Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!
All debt consolodated and cards destroyed!!
As D'Ream would sing 'Things.....can only get better'!!!

Unfortunately by using moneysupermatket.com you did agree to their terms and conditions
    http://www.moneysupermarket.com/legal/terms.asp

    which state in section 16

"Insurers will use the information you input into the fact finding questionnaire to calculate their premium and any offer of insurance cover. It is your responsibility to ensure that such information and all other information you provide to the insurers (before cover begins and during the term of any policy you take out) is complete, accurate and not misleading. The information you supply maybe used to carryout certain credit checks through licensed credit-referencing agencies. This is used as part of the underwriting process for some of the insurers and a record of this search will be made. If you are in any doubt as to whether any information is relevant you should disclose it. If you do not provide all such information your selected insurer may be able to treat your insurance policy as if it never existed."

Are they credit searches or just identity checks?
If the latter they are nothing to worry about as they are only visible to you.

From the homepage, scroll down and click "T&C's".

    You're then presented with...
If you use the Website you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
    Scoll further down to...
The following sections form part of the terms and conditions and provide more specific guidance on certain products and services
    1. Insurance products and services
...and then the 3rd para reads...
The information you supply maybe used to carryout certain credit checks through licensed credit-referencing agencies. This is used as part of the underwriting process for some of the insurers and a record of this search will be made.
Note the word "certain". This, to me, indicates the searches will be of the 'quotation' type, ie they're classed as unrecorded enquiries. As such, they will not be seen by other lenders when searching your file.
