Well, they told me something different on the phone. I have transfered a large amount of money from an "unlinked" account (account in my name, but not matching the details of the linked account in KE system) last week, and it worked without issues. Took 4 days to show the money on the KE web site.

On a separate topic, I called them again this morning for something else, and I spoke to a real person after about 10 seconds! None of my other banks (UK based) are so fast at answering the phone.

I'm very impressed with them so far. It took less than 3 days for my BACS transfer from Abbey to hit my KE account. Transfer of £5000 from savings account to fixed term deposit account was completed in under a minute. No messing!
Off to Abbey to sort out my ISA transfers tomorrow:eek:
