Best thing to get rid of sticker residue from tv?

Hi,

Just bought a Tv and it has a bit of selotape on the side of it, what would be the best thing to remove it? I have tried hot soapy water but it's still there.

Any help would be great

I know its a waste but rubbing gently with alcohol will remove it ...

hold a cotton ball soaked in alcohol over the glue then it should wipe off

WD40 dissolves gum like this. It leaves an oily residue, but this wipes away. Also good old Stardrops.

  • Get a cat to lick it.You will need to wipe some fish paste on the residue first though.Their velcro like tongues will clean anything:p .

Lakeland sticky stuff remover will do it, read the instructions first though.

My Kittens will not go near it ;) WD40 worked a treat thanks
  • A little bit of hairspray on a (non fluffy!) cloth will work.

My Mum swears by oil to remove sticky residue - olive oil, sunflower oil, baby oil - just not the stuff you put in the car!

Don't use nail varnish remover on plastic. It may damage it.

I keep a bottle of isopropl alcohol for cleaning my computer screen and CD's. It will remove sticky stuff as well. You can buy it at the chemist. About £1 for 500ml. Lasts years.

EDIT: Just realised it has been solved.
