Downstairs layout - where can I get some ideas?

Hello,
I could really do with some help to sort out the downstairs layout of our new home. Are there any good sites to look at for some ideas?
At the moment all I can see is how the previous owner had it
- and it really doesn't work for us. Mainly due to the fact that the kitchen isn't really big enough for us - or at least at the moment there's just not enough storage.
Plus th emain living room was set up as a dining room leaving the only other downstairs room (the conservatory) to be used as a living room.
Room dimensions are as follows:
Kitchen: 8 x 10
Dining room: 10 x 17
Conservatory: 12 x 10
Any ideas / suggestions?
Thanks Ww

Could you swap the living and dining rooms over so that the dining room is in the conservatory?
Do you use a dining room as such, if not have two reception rooms, a garden room type thing in the conservatory and a "snug" in the current lounge?

Thanks for that Alison - we have thought of that and it's probably what we'll do to start with.
We do use the dining room though since the kitchen has no space to eat in.
The only thing therefore about moving the eating area to the conservatory is that it's that much further to get the food.0 -
Hi,
I found this site quite good with inspiration as well as room planning tool and colour planner

Thanks for that Malamala - looks like a good site to have a trawl through for some ideas.
I'm a bit down about the whole thing at the moment - just can't see what would work and how we'd best utilise the space.

Do you have a layout for us to look at? That would help.0

if your desperate, you could always pose as a potential buyer and look at other houses in your neighborhood . or those new builds.
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.

Good morning,
I do have a layout - but I'm not quite sure how to put it on here...0 -
We've just had some work done on our 3 bed semi.
We had a lounge at the front, a galley kitchen and a small dining room at the back.
We have knocked the kitchen and dining room together, then added an open plan extension across the full length of the back of the house as a lounge so we live in the back large space.
Let me know if you would like me to put some pics on if any use.[0 -
Is the 10' wall of the kitchen the same 10' wall as dining room - maybe a knock through would make it less tight & more open plan.
