I want a corset! is it possible to put them on by yourself though or would I need a dresser?

You can put them on by yourself. Many come with a zip so you can let yourself out in a hurry.

I'm sure it'll work out fine but it will be daunting going back after all this time although you'll probably find you feel like you've never been away within a couple of weeks.;)
Yes, it just feels like I've just been on holiday for a couple of weeks - hard to believe I've been off a year and had a baby in that time!

One side with laces, so you can get it really tight and conforming to your body. The other side a zip, so you can get out without having to loosen X million laces...
