Afternoon folks. Hope you are all having a lovely day.

    Today I....

Spent the whole day in Glasgow with my mother and spent....dun dun dun... £100

I feel really chuffed as I treated myself with my bonus from work that I wasn't expecting.

I shopped in total MSE fashion - checking the sales first and knowing exactly what I was looking for.

It has been ages since I went shopping in town and it's been ages since I bought myself something without it being second hand and feeling guilty.

The money was a total surprise so not accountfareed for in the slightest.

I feel really positive now and motivated to be debt free by the end of the year. This time last year I was not in the same position to be spending money on myself (I did also buy some things for DS1 and the house).

Oh and mum bought me lunch and paid my train fare so not too bad

    Also...

    checked online banking
used some vouchers for Adams towards DS1 new jacket
defrosted some HM soup for DS2 for dinner
asked dad to take OH to work to avoid bus fare
put my change from today into appropriate tubs/jars
Official DFW nerd no 551 - proud to be dealing with my debts
    Debts as of March 2014
    Nationwide - £5745, Overdraft - £350,
    Debts as of January 2015
    Nationwide - £4997, Overdraft - £0:j

    I have prepared my Particulars of Claim againsyt the Halifax for mis-sold PPI and will be sending them - and the court fee - off tomorrow. I'm reclaiming £2,000 worth of mis-sold and totally worthless PPI cover, although it may be more once I've prepared the second spreadsheet which charges contractual interest (don't ask, don't get!);
Bought 2 for the price of 1 toothpaste in Tesco.

That's good enough for one day!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

So do I. I paid them about £1900 in insurance cover on a credit card on the basis that I was told it would cover me in the eventof accident, sickness or unemployment. Wha they never told me was that there were exclusions on there relating to illnesses which meant that I was precluded, and that there were certain employment conditions which meant that when I applied I was not eligible and that when I tried to claim, I wasn't eligible. The Halifax were the only company who refused to pay out when I needed their support. All others did and were reasonably supportive when I was out of work.

The Halifax, however, with their 8 - 10 calls a day caused the start of my panic attacks and the start of me unhooking my phone. 3 years later and I've still not plucked up the courage to even put my own home phone on because the start of a ring - even from a friend or family - always takes me back to sitting in here 24 hours a day worrying about the Halifax phoning me any time day or night.

To say I hate the Halifax is an understatement - which is exactly the reason I bought shares in them, so that I can say, "I own you".

Even more reasons to make them pay, sounds like you had a really bad experience.
