don't know where to post this (been ripped off on the net)

Hi folks

Had to re register as I managed to either lose my user name or password so back to being a newbie.

Mods, please move this to correct section thanks.

My question is:

I bought a software program from off the net for around 15 quid on visa card (below £100 I appreciate)

The software gets blocked by various virus checking programs as it has a worm in it and it gets deleted instantly, so I have never actually been able to use it.

Regsoft provided the program and the serial number (and took my money)

advising them got the response, the vendor will be in touch.

I assume they mean the software programmer as the vended it to me.

Nothing happened and now there answer is the company who wrote the program (russian) will not refund me, so theres nothing they can do.

wondered how I stood on this

progam: pztageditor
supplier: regsoft (Digital River inc, Canada)

here's a bit of what they emailed back to me today.

I'm terribly sorry, but if the vendor has denied you a refund, there is
nothing we can do on our end. The vendor/author of the software would
be the one to refund the money after we have fulfilled all the
obligations of the refund process as set forth in our vendor agreements.
I suggest you pursue this with the vendor as we are now out of the loop
on this.

Try speaking to Visa. Some companies will still do chargeback even if its under £100.

sounds like you bought something a little dodgy and cheap with spyware in and it bit you in the !!!. Get onto your cc company if you don't get any result there then you're probably stuffed.

If you purchased through a UK business then in all likelihood your contract is with them and not the software writers, DS regulations should apply. If not I don't know.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
