Harsh bank charges, any suggestions? (Halifax)

Hi all,

I recently went 93p over my overdraft limit and i've contacted Halifax and they've said they will not refund the charges because I have had 2 reversed in the last year.

A direct debit went out which I had anticipated and left money in there for but I had not anticipated the interest from a previous months overdraft and this forced them to charge me a 'paid item fee' for the direct debit. Now I noticed this on the day that it went out and transfered money in to cover the overdrawn balance, any other time that I have had insufficient funds in the account they've never paid the direct debit, just said that they attempt a couple of times on the same day to take it and from which i've transferred money in to cover it but for some reason on this occasion halifax have paid the DD and charged me for it! Any ideas on how/if i'll be able to get this charge back?

Thanks,
