Should I panic?

According to a scan by Zonealarm Checkup I have a total of 4 MB of system clutter on my PC.

Apparently these junk and redundant files are wasting valuable hard drive space, robbing system performance, and causing potential reliability problems.

As a result my computer has failed the test

Should I panic and spend loads of money on fixing these problems?

No, just install and run run https://www.ccleaner.com, disable the yahoo toolbar on installation, and untick the delete log checkbox before you run it
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

Well it might be making your pc slow if it was built in the dark ages and takes 4 days to compute a single sum of 2+2.

Ok in overall terms 4 meg is nothing for new computers. And even on old computers that wouldent cause any damage.

It also depends on what those files are?

    Viruses, trojans etc.

But in the overall scheme of things these files arnt worth the hassle of looking on your computer for.

2 good programs to get are

    adaware se personal
    Spybot search and destroy

    both are free to use.

Everytime you go online or write a doc or do anything little bits are left over in temporary folders etc . They do not cause harm nor slow your machine down unless they grow to a huge size . Zone Alarm should be ashamed of themselves giving out that sort of false message .
Just run CCleaner every week or so to clean the junk safely note you lose your web site history but thats just the pages you have visited not your favourites/bookmarks.
