System fails to start.
Have tryed to boot up from original install disk holding the 'c' key at boot time. Nothing.
Have tried holding option key at boot time but no HD icon appears and not before long all freezes up.
Tryed to boot into "single-user mode" - nothing.
What else can I try?

i think you'll have to trot off down to the Apple store - there are some articles on the apple website. You might have to flush out VRAM or somethingHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

The order in which I'd try and solve this:
1. First I'd try resetting the PRAM (Parameter RAM), details on Apples website here:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238
2. If that doesn't work try resetting the PMU (Power Management Unit), details here:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=14449
3. Try the hardware forum at: www.macuser.co.uk
4. Give up and take it to Apple!0
