Sarasin Agrisar - one to watch maybe ?

See:
http://www.h-l.co.uk/fund_research/security_details/sedol/B2Q8L64.hl

It has a broad brush agriculture theme. Only about 15% direct agriculture commodities, the rest agricultural infrastructure shares - related technology, land, machinery etc.

Have been thinking along these lines for some time. May well be a sector worth investing in.

I am sure it is lower risk and less volatile than Eclectia Agriculture:

.......this surety is based on what exactly ??

Quite how anyone could make such a statement about the 'Volatility' of a Fund launched 3 days ago is beyond me

Enough trolling please.:mad: If you had bothered to read the associated articles on the fund you would know that it has a much more diverse mix than the Eclectia fund and the fund manager specifically says that he will be using measures, such as shorting, to reduce downside volatility.

I have a little in the Eclectia fund. It is a specialist fund and should only represent a small percentage of your portfolio. Like most funds in the specialist areas.

I'm glad to see that your unwavering faith in the infallibility of those 'God' like creatures called Fund Managers remains intact.

In the real world volatility is measured by how an Investment performs, not by the advertising 'guff' produced by the 'Gods'

Just look at the performance over the last few months, of the 100's of Funds that were 'meant' to be display low volatility

Well I'm down 32% from when this fund launched.

Obviously not as stable/safe as some of us thought.

The fund manager recently gave a comment on HL's site:

    http://www.h-l.co.uk/news/fund-manager-comments/articles/803/rq/article

^The way he talks about the "Green Man" gives me the impression he is either a complete "cowboy" fund manager or has gone senile .

Going to have to hold for the long term now.

The " Whack-a-Mole " analogy was rather nice, though!

It was never safe or stable. It is a very high risk fund.

Indeed. The fund manager, affectionately known as Jessie announced, "This week I are be mostly wearing gumboots and brown trousers". ;)
