I would disagree but I can't.
The search option is normally very good but I have tried using it this evening but it won't work for some reason.
However, you may be having the same problem I first had.
If you're searching for something in the forum for example.
Click on the Chat Forums (in the orange column) to take you to the forum. Then use the search option to search the chat forum (in the pull down menu) type in the string of characters you're searching for then click GO.
I have no idea if that solves the problem you're having but it worked for me.
I'm not sure that it's supposed to work like that though. It will be interesting to see what others think.

I noticed that sometimes too. I think it's timing out when the server is busy
We gotta kneecap Martin's voice to keep him off the radio for a while0 -
Cheers it's up again so all is well again.0

I have this problem all the time. I have tried what Spookmeister suggested but it still gives me a "error web site not responding" message. Is it the site with the fault or my computer?0

Just tried again choosing just one forum to search and it worked ok (and I guessed the right forum too ;D ).
Looks like it can't cope with a full, all forum search, so suggest restricting as much as possible. (Uncheck the "check all" box then recheck only those most likely).0 -
Would be really useful if the 'Check All' box was at the start of the list of things to check, rather than at the bottom :-/0

I also find the search quite erratic. You can use google and just add the following to your search:
site:forum.moneysavingexpert.com0
