Hi
When i bought mine i rang a few garage and got a price for the vehicle.
Then rang a another one and asked how much when they tell you the price ,say i was quoted whatever by the other garage can you better it. ( they normally will )
Do this with a few garages see what you get off
I rang four different ones saved a grand plus i got a top of the range cd/ mp3 player and the first service for nothing.
They all mark the cars up so dont be afraid to have a ring round its easier than face to face.R.I.P Sam, still in my heart0 -
Did you say you are buying a new car or a second hand car?0

If it is a new car, have a look at What Car who have a section called target price that they believe you should be able to get the car for.
http://www.whatcar.co.uk/target_price.asp
If it is a used car, have a look in the price guides such as Parkers to give you an indication of what you should be paying.0 -
a second hand car is what im after.0

As well as looking in PArkers look in Autotrader to see what other people are selling at. Parkers gives the reccommended price but other sellers give a more realistic price of what people want to pay.0

Generally cars in autotrader are overpriced, and people who buy cars in the autotrader are paying too much. Sellers going to the expense of autotrader consider their cars to be worth a premium and the prices reflect this. If you are looking for a reasonable price and don't fancy going to an auction where the best savings can be made then try the classified ads - much more competitive for second-hand cars.0
