Incapacity Benefit and Permitted Work

I have made a claim for incapacity benefit as I have painful arthritis.
My claim is going through and I was told it would take 4 to 5 weeks to see if I get the benefit.
I can't find this information anywhere so need your help.
Right now if I feel I could work say a couple of hours a day in a paid job should I:
Ask the job Centre if I can look for a job just a couple of hours a day ?
Not look for work until I have the decision?
Apply for any suitable work then tell the Job centre?

Ask your JCP Benefit Centre for form PW1. You can do PW and earn upto £88.50pw for 52 weeks providing you work for less than 16hrs pw.,0

Came off JS recently and went onto incapacity.had word with DWP disability advisor who arranged me to do permitted work up to 16 hrs.
No probs at all. Just have a word with advisor.Found them very good.0
