Staywarm big price increases
Hi there
My Mum nearly had a heartattack when her new staywarm bill arrived, her bill has gone up to £108.86 per month, an increase of more than £30.00
I have done a throough search online, using comparison sites and find that N-Power is the best alternative price wise, as based on her usage in the last year, Staywarm would cost £1306.32, and N-Power would be £958, quite a big saving
Hopefully, someone can help me with a couple of questions:
are N-Power any better/worse than other suppliers re sudden increases in tariff - I don't want to get her to switch, only to find the prices have increased in two months time and she is worse off
presumable, they charge a set amount each month, and then adjust the year end charge with a refund (yeah right) or a balancing charge
basically I just want to try and sort it for her so she is paying a more reasonable amount - any help appreciated!
thanks in anticipation

I left Bgas 2 years ago and joined npower because they were the cheapest. I now wish and wish and wish that I had never set eyes on npower. There are numerous comments on other threads as to the reasons why.0

npower billing and CS are attrocious!
however isn't the staywarm a fixed-price tarrif? In which case things may fare a little better, perhaps (or is that a pig I see outside the window).
Personally I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole (after original switching was allowed, they didn't send the first bill for 3 years, and then "swapped" the peak and off-peak readings which just happened to work in their favour)
I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.:cool:0
