HELP??? in the kitchen!

Options
OH has made some greengage jam and has left me to clean the pans but she burnt the bottom of the jam and it is now caramelised on the bottom (Black).

On is stainless and the other enamel.

How do I get rid of the rotten stuff?

tried leaving it in soak to no avail.

ANY ONE?

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

What did you use to soak the pans? If you haven't already, try putting a warm solution of biological soap powder in the pans and leave to soak for a few hours. Good luck!

    I used Washing up liquid.

I take it you mean Bio Washing powder(for clothes) and not dishwasher powder?

Edit : Just looked and she doesn't use Bio washing powder.

    does vinegar help?

Bio washing powder really is the best, I leave it to soak overnight. I was watching Kim and Aggie the other day, they used salt and vinegar mixed together and one of those curly wire things (can never remember what they're called  ). If you haven't got a curly wire thing, use scrunched up tin foil.

Easiest way just fill back up with clean water and bring to the boil and keep it boiling for a good while that should start to shift it.

Stirring gently with a wooden spoon especially a well worn one whilst simmering water will deal with the stainless steel pan, throw the non stick pan away they are crap anyway.
