Ooooh get one of these if you can, they are brilliant. They cost next to nothing to run and the clothes are dry overnight or even quicker, even when filled with undies which normally take days. Read the reviews on the site and there's hardly a negative one there. The shortish flex is the only problem I've found but just park it near a wall or get an extension lead. It's still not as good as putting the washing on the line but I work full time and don't have much choice.

I have one of these - initially cost-wise it does not appear to be very MSE but it is certainly effective, warms a room too and takes the pressure off in respect of not having damp clothes hanging around. I don't have a tumble drier so this is next best thing for days when it is not possible to hang clothes outside!:A0 -
I would use a tumble if I had one
For the moment I am finding drying a little outside and inside is working fine, in the evenings the bathroom window is wide open!
Seem to have got the hang of it this year!OU Law studentMay Grocery challenge£30/ £110 -
I would normally dry on rads but as my heating is not on yet i'm line drying on every suitable day i can.Once i have it all in it's goes on airers then into the airing cupboard to finish ,sheets go over the bannister overnight which works really well. The TD only gets used if somthing is needed quickly .
I am going have to cut down on the sheets i use,i love getting into clean ones after doing a long hard night shift but now my son has moved home with me i'm getting a lot more to wash .His is one extra pair plus he has his children here at weekends ,which is anouther three sets also the youngest wets the bed somtimes,so it's back to changing once aweek for me.maybe once the heating is on i will treat myself again.0 -
Mines on the line as we speak with the sun and the wind on it so hopefully it will dry:j0

We either wait/hope for a dry day, or use airers/radiators/airing cupboard. If there is a full load we will use the tumble dryer but because in our house washing tends to be done in batches it's normally just 'use every available surface'."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

I've subscribed to the thread as I have just found my tumble dryer does not tumble
It was the last thing I had (it's 6 year old, not bad for an overworked tumbler) that I was convinced I needed so I am upset, very worried at how I'm going to cope with all the washing but determined that I will not buy another tumble dryer.
Oh nothe washing is on the radiators, hate that
