    If you want save money on a cheapish older car, i always think its worth getting an old sporty classic. This way you wont lose money on the vaule of the car over the next few years (It may even increase!). Such as
    Peugeot 205 Gti
    Renualt Williams Clio
    Volkswagon Mk1 Golf

    As long as you find one that been loved and looked after, with all its documant and services. You cant go to far wrong.

    If you want reliable, go for a Japanese brand, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mazda etc.

    When you find your car, have it HPI checked, check it's service history as well.
