Red letter days & credit card refunds

My son's girlfriend has spent £400.00 on Redletter days (who have gone broke)with her Tesco mastercard credit card. She purchased them at Allders (who have also gone broke). Does anyone know if she can claim through her credit card? Has anyone had success in doing this?

If it was me I'd ring up and ask but she seems reluctant as she can't see why they would pay up

According the business news on the day that Red Letter announced they had gone under, people who paid on their credit cards are covered and should contact their card provider immediately.

Good luck, I hope she can get her money back ASAP.

there is a clause with credit cards that you are able to claim back but not with debit cards so if you have paid on credit card contact your credit card provider and they will explain all.

If it's over £100 on a credit card you are covered - so make sure your sons girlfriend gets on to her credit card company. She has a right under the law, but be prepared for the card company, possibly, to try and find a way out of it.

The earlier she gets in contact the better as it may be a drawn out process before she gets it back - others will know more as there have been many previous threads on this sort of thing.
