When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

 morning all, lovely day!!
Today I have brought in breakfast and lunch from home
I will check internet banking next (should be nothing going on!)
I am going to the pigsback focus group in town tonight, free wine, nibbles, goodie bag and 5000 piggy points (it's about the weekly mailer so if anyone has any feedback they'd like me to pass on, let me know)
Will only spend a naughty 55p on a can of pop at lunchtime
Added - have just set up my council tax to be over 12 months, so I can throw an extra £20 a month off my credit card!
Cheers

Hi everyone! Well done on all your things today, it does get easier each day i promise, this is my 5th day of DFW and i am getting there. I have been proactive and called into work and got myself a days overtime on saturday, my thinking was if i work, i wont spend, there is petrol in the car so no travel costs, ill make after tax and student loan about 100 pounds for the day!!! That can go towards paying off CC next month.
Other things today, i will need a pasta sauce for dinner, but i have sainsburys points so will use them!!lol I have just got a nectar credit card too with 25 pounds of free points. Will come through soon.
I am going round corner to library read the papers instead of buying them. Can do my research for uni there too!!
ooh i have got a free gym voucher for 12 days from local free paper! That will keep me busy next week
Keep at it everyone!!Debt for Tallie - JUNE 2009NATWEST LOAN......5000.00CREDIT CARDS........5000.00STUDENT LOAN.......7500.00TESCO CARD..........1000.000 -
You could make your own pasta sauce

1 tin of basics chopped tomatoes
1 onion
1 clove of garlic
mixed herbs
You could add some chopped bacon too if you wanted to

Have checked my online banking and found I could put some extra money against one of my cc debts. Made my own bread to avoid spending as all ingredients here already. Wish I could find a fortune somewhere as my motivation is not high.Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0
