Hi
In June last year (when I did my annual review) I received my award letter, which also had a prediction that from April this year my payments would reduce to half. This is because last year's claim included some maternity pay. However, I was wondering whether anybody knows if the credits are increasing this year at all?
I can't seem to find anywhere which lists how much you're likely to get this year.
I could really do with it not reducing to half because that will mean I have reduce my payments to my creditors.
I'd be grateful for any advice.
Thanks

Depends on your income level. Whether you are joint, single etc.
The child element of CTC is going from £1845 to £2085 so this is an extra £4.61pw
The family element remains the same at £545.
Reducing to half? You get a baby element in a childs 1st year that is only available upto childs 1st birthday. This is also £545.
If you were receiving £545 family + £545 baby, you will lose the £545 baby after childs 1st birthday, if thats what you mean.
If not, and you receive the child element, the answer to your question is, you'll receive an additional £240pa per child.
Hope this helps0 -
Our circumstances haven't changed. The amount is due to be less because last year (2007-8) included maternity pay (not the baby that was the year before). So I should receive the £545 family element, plus the £2085 for each child. We currently get the lowest amount paid because of my salary, but if it's going up, hopefully that means we'll receive more.
Do you know if we'll get notice, or that it will just show in the bank. I can't remember what happened last year.DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0 -
Assuming you are a couple, there is a taper in place from £16,400 to £31,400
Depends where your income level fits in, as to how much of the full child award you'll get.
Its £2085per child upto £16400, falling to 0 entitlement of child element at £31,400
If your income is less than £31,400, you will definitely see some form of increase yes!0 -
Thank you. This sounds like good news - I'll just have to wait and see what happens at the end of the month.
