Hi
After hearing last week that now was the time to switch gas and electric, i did on sunday and felt really good about it. However i read today that Ebico have only just put up there prices which is who i changed to for my Gas supply! Does anyone know how to work out on these comparison sites who has not yet had a price increase?
Thanks Diane

Hello Diane, welcome to the site. This is a good one to check on who and when companies change their prices.

I think you will find Ebico are still reasonable price wise, but it is hard to know ,isn't it? I am wondering whether to change from Atlantic,as my electricity use is very high, but i keep being told British gas is the best.Don't want to go down that route again!!

Ebico has raised gas prices from 2.55p/kwh to 2.86p/kwh.
This rate is for all units used and includes VAT.

Although this rise took place on 1st April 08 Ebico as far as I know hasn`t informed existing customers.
  • I've been trying to change to Ebico for my gas/electric , but I'm having problems doing it. None of the switcher websites will let me do the transfer, and if I try to go to Ebico's own website I get a 'Server not found' message.
Anyone got any suggestions as to how I make the switch?

Can customers who don't agree to the price rise inform them of this and keep the old prices for a month or so while switching? - I remember this was possible with some companies.

Havn't read all this, ILikepoints, but should be in there somewhere...usual to keep old price in notice period. They are a fairplay company.

As you all know I`m with Ebico, and for the time being staying with them, but I think they should have informed us in advance of the price rise and give people the chance to switch and keep the old prices until completed.

It actually works to your advantage if you are not notified formally - and they have several weeks to send you formal notification.

Say they formally inform you on 01 May of the price increase that was effective from 01 April.

It the(very unlikely!!) event that you then decide to leave Ebico for BG(of course!!) you notify them of your intent to leave and you revert to the pre April 1 rates until the move has taken place.
