Tried it last year - they could only be 4rsed to give me a quote within 4 weeks (tried 6 weeks out) so I stuck with my current insurers. SOOO MANY COMPANIES COULDN'T GIVE A ***** - cobblers.

I spent ages putting the information in, only to be told at the end that they had a technical error, please try later.

Did it all again, and after a week had only 2 quotes, 1 of which expired after 24 hours.

I thought it was lousy, so I looked at Direct Line, they asked few questions, and saved me £20 a month on contents and buildings.

    Good old direct line.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

I tried confused.com last month. They came up immediately with loads of deals below what I had been quoted as my renewal quote. So I rang my insurance company and told them that, and they agreed to match the confused.com quote so I stayed with them.
Eh?? I give up!! Towel is getting thrown in here! :D
  • I tried these too but then went on https://www.insuresupermarket.co.uk
Cheapest i've found.. got my home insurance on there too. £42 pm for joint life cover, buildings AND contents through NorwichUnion.
  • Please remember to use the links for these companies in the blue bar above this forum as this gains a small amount for MSE which enables Martin to run the forums, keep them ad-free and donate to charity ;)

    Good old direct line.

Fair dos and glad you made a saving. One thing about direct line though, they are run by the same company who plums out insurance for a number of the 'newbie' insurers to the market. Tesco and Egg for starters. I had a mate who worked for them and it litterally is a case of the same insurance with a different customer facing end. I had a mate who worked in the call centre, and when you dial up the computer systems tell them whether to answer 'Hello Tesco" or "Hello Direct Line". Quite sneaky really.

Anyhow, in light of confused being tempremental, I always have a look around these three. For my car and me being under 25, Egg was by far and away the cheapest out of these three.

Good for you, every savings worth having.

As for tesco.direct line, I don't care what they say so long as the cover's right and the price is low.

In fact, when Direct lLine increase their premium next year - they give 15% discount for online purchase - I'll probably go to Tesco. HAHA.

Every tear that ever rolled down your weary face
All the time U waste in that paper chase
Is time better spent in these arms of mine
