Clothes sales aren't great on ebay at the moment, or is it just me?

Listed about 10 items a few days ago and none of them have watchers don't mention bids. I'm sort of puzzled. Wanted to take advantage of 5p listing day today but wondering if it's worth it..

Really quiet at the moment, hopefully people are away on Easter break and will back over the weekend. I listed some things at the weekend which are usually fairly sought after and sell out as soon as I list and I have only sold one of them!

ive got 30 items listed at the moment and only 6 have buyers. i have a number of watchers and a couple of days left to run so i am hopeful but unless it gets better i will just break even - a waste of time really.

    Hi,
I've just read somewhere that putting clothing in job lots is the best way to go. Except with designer stuff?
I was thinking of putting some summer clothes on, thinking that would sell better..

Has anyone sold used trainers. I have a pair of Nikes, they could do with a wash but I thought I might give them a go??

even though i havent listed as many items as i normally do, it has been very quiet,

but so are the shops etc.... my mam owns a upper end clothes shop, and she is quiet at the mo, the villages around where i live seems quiet, not amny people around, PLUS the charity shops that i deal with are quiet.

so its across the board really, not just ebay.

ebay must be feeling it too to have a free listing day, and a 5p listing day not far apart from each other.

as if you think about it they are not getting their final figure fee..

plus i should imagine there are going to be more sellers than buyers, as now alot of people are getting caught up in the credit crunch, harder to get loans, mortgages, price of living going up etc, so they are not buying, but trying to get extra money in.

in one way , this is the best time to buy off ebay, and get a TRUE bargin.

i personally think with the clothes... dont put silly high starting prices on things, unless it is designer or vintage etc...i am keeping the better stuff back until things pick up and only put the general day to day clothes on ebay .as the way i am looking at it ,
its better to have something than nothing in the bank at mo......

I have been listing clothes at 99p and the stuff that sold 6/8 people haven't paid! Its so annoying as I need this stuff gone !!

There are also a lot of easter sales on at the mo... next etc.... so people are just going shopping instead!

I was selling a suit in Feb, bidding was brisk and it ended up at £36. Bidder didn't pay  Relisted recently and bidding was slow with MANY fewer watchers, came to £18 this time. Bidder hasn't paid 4 days on - won't panic yet but seems like this is my jinx item! :p

Thanks angelcake - I'll be quite happy with the £18 though if I actually get paid this time!!! Good luck with your stuff.
