Hi all,
I wonder if you can help please- is there anyway I can get interest free/charge free cash from my credit card? It is a Barclay Card with 8months interest free purchases left, but I need to take a large cash advance without paying the fees- is there a way I can transfer it to my bank account or something similar?
Thanks in advance!

Not with Barclaycard unfortunately.
Do to this you need an SBT (Super Balance Transfer) card. These include Egg, Egg Money and any card administered by MBNA (including the Virgin range of cards).
In addition MINT periodically issue Credit Card cheques that can be paid into a Bank Account, but this is the least satisfactory option because you don't know precisely when the cheques are going to drop through your letterbox.0 -
Thanks for your super fast help! I do have a Mint card but unfortunately I need the cash this weekend, kinda last minute I know- may just have to dip into the savings and overdraft and try and make it temporary!0

OK, only way to do it is if you have a close friend or family member with an Egg Money card.
If you have, you could Balance Transfer from that Egg Money card to your Barclaycard, putting your Barclaycard into debt (at 0%), but a positive balance on your friend's Egg Money card.
Egg Money would then allow that positive balance to be transferred to a bank account so that you can get to it.
There would be 3% fee from Barclaycard, but provided the Egg Money card stays in positive balance, there should be no fee to get the money from there.
A little convoluted, and it does rely on "borrowing" someone else's Egg Money card.0 -
...assuming the Barclaycard has 0% on BT's as well as "8 months interest free purchases left" Nick?0

Yep, as ever YorkshireBoy has a close eye for detail.
My plan ONLY works if you have 0% BT deal on your Barclaycard in addition to the Purchase deal.0 -
My doctor said I shouldn't have Spam at any time, especially not before breakfast...0
