Sale of Goldfish to Barclays

The Morgan Stanley & Goldfish credit card websites show that these cards are now issued by Barclays. They seem to have completed this deal faster than originally planned - it was only announced in February.

Pants. I had them on my list of stoozing cards and already have a Barclaycard with a measly 5K 0% limit.

In fact Barclaycard will ONLY allow you to Balance Transfer £5k at 0%, so even if you had a £30k credit limit, only £5k of it is really any good for stoozing.

It may be worth trying applications for Morgan Stanley or Goldfish sooner rather than later before they start to consolidate the systems with Barclaycard.

Yup, started with a 10K limit but reduced it to 5K after doing a BT to take their 0% offer :) Last time I looked, Quidco were offering £ 41 for a Goldfish application if anyone is looking to apply asap.

They still are, althought aren't they a very good to excellent credit ratings?

I wonder if their systems are merged already or at the least the card details moved across.

I recently got a Goldfish card with a 3K limit, the same month as my Skycard (Barclaycard) was increased from 8K to 10K.

I can see a reduction in credit limit coming somewhere.

As long as you haven't got too high a debt you should be ok, maybe close the goldfish card to be safe? (on the basis it has a lower limit)

I only opened the Goldfish for the Quidco. It pretty much paid for a weekend trip to Northern Ireland. Thank you budget airlines, cheapo car hire and hostels.

I'm pretty sure they haven't managed to make any product changes or merge any backend systems yet - they've only just managed to change all their legal wording to "Barclaycard" :)
