halifax charges!

I am being charged £48 at the end of this month and £48 at the end of next month for going £2-3 over my overdrafts when it was their interest that put me over it in the first place.

Over this and next month i was going to be paying the two £100 overdrafts off completely but now i am going to extremely struggle, bloody upsetting too.

Whats my best option?!
Appreciate everyone’s advice here, keep up the great work!

    Hey James,

Sorry to hear about with your problems with the Halifax. Ive been with them for a good few years and ive had problems with them as well re charges. Currently trying to claim them all back but, as you know, all current cases are on hold pending the outcome of the trial.

I think you should give them a call. Ive had some success over the phone with them in that they might refund at least a portion of the charges. Ive had two or three overturned this way as a "goodwill gesture."

Let us know how you get on.

Same happened to me. I went £16 over on the 29 feb whilst ill and paid in to cover it on 1st march. Ive been charged for being od for february AND march!!!!!!!!!!! 2 charges. I am closing all my accounts as soon as I decide which bank to use and mu family will follow. Halifax won't give a damn, but I'll feel better!!!!! If more took the plunge and left it might affect them. Did try telephoning but was told ''tough''.

I am now also being charged £39 for a failed direct debit from a fone bill, which i had the money, but in the wrong account, i will be going to my branch tomorrow and if they do not stop the charges i will tell them the truth, i wont and cant pay it, i will go with another bank and take them to court, and will win.

I am so upset right now its unreal almost £150 in bank charges, for £4 overdrawn and a failed direct debit. There should be bloody warning on this kind of thing.
Appreciate everyone’s advice here, keep up the great work!
