0845 Numbers

Hello Money Savers
I wonder if anyone can help. I'm trying to cut my phone bills down. I've just signed up to paper-free billing from BT and I'm going to take out the Primus Saver 2 account and also use the 18185 prefix for daytime/mobile calls, but does anyone know who is the cheapest provider for 0845 numbers? My quick bit of research suggests it's BT, so I was thinking of using the BT 1280 prefix every time I ring an 0845 number, that way I benefit from the cheapest rates AND ensure I make 6 chargeable calls per quarter so they don't charge me for caller display and 1571. Any thoughts anyone? I'm quite new to this game!
Thanks.

BT is the cheapest provider for daytime 0845 calls, Mon-Fri. Look for alternatives on Say no to 0870.0

Whether to use BT (the 1280 prefix) or 18185 or 18185's freephone access number for the cheapest 0845 and 0870 calls depends on the day and time of day.

BTW, leaving your line rental with BT but using Primus Saver Option 2 CPS means you'll be on BT's Unlimited Weekend Plan. That gives inclusive (free) calls of up to an hour to UK 01 (except 01481 and 01534), 02 and 03 numbers at the weekend so making such calls with the 1280 prefix as your 'qualifying calls' means they'll cost nothing.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
