Thanks Edi! Thought show was great - as usual! Getting sleeker every week. Single issue format is much better than earliest shows. I'm doing copies to show my folks and in-laws as they've all been with BT for years.
Wish I could see the extra show on Sunday - how did the trial go?
What's with Martin force feeding poor Ruth though?! Crisps, chocolate and now cake! Come on Martin, time for the tables to be turned I think - time for you to do a bit of presenting with your mouth full!
Ps liked the on-lookers sitting down observing the wallet challenge - much more natural than standing.0 -
This episode was very beneficial to me personally. I've already signed up to 18185 when Martin told us about it weeks ago, and have already saved loads on calls to my Sons Mobile (He lives in Leeds) and many Friends too. Thank you Martin...:money:
What I would like to know though is, are there any prefix numbers to sign up to which will save us Money on numbers like 0844 and 090 numbers?
I do have to phone my GP Practice, which has now changed to an 0844 number (This used to be free to me as I am on BT Option 3) and 090 to AOL, because my service can be dissrupted on many occasions, which sometimes means calls to them which can last for AN HOUR!!! or more. I am not able to go through 18185, as these are not numbers that they can connect to!
Meaning I do still have to go through BT each time, at a very large expense to me!
I'm sure some MSE Forum users can advise on this, as you all have many times in the past xxx................................... MSE MARTIN LEWIS ... :A ... THANK YOU.......................0 -
An excellent show my sister and I were in the audience we were exhausted when we got home goodness knows how Martin and Ruth felt. Both Martin and Ruth were poorly but they soldiered on. Enjoy your holiday Martin!!:hello: N:hello:A :hello:N :hello:A :hello:M :hello:A :hello:G :hello:S :hello:0

Martins Doll - Instead of the 090 number for AOL, try 0800 049 1123 (courtesy of SayNoTo0870.com
) and select the relevant options.
I notice you mentioned service disruption - the entire AOL network has had problems recently and they're well aware of this. Call them and voice your unhappiness - we got 3 months free thanks to a single phone call after threatening to leave for Tiscali. Alternatively they may offer a wireless router and an upgrade to the fastest speed available0 -

This is my experience. I was formerly with ntl for Broadband and telephone and Sky+ for television. ntl bills (after it was taken over by Virgin Media) had risen to between £45 and £55 per month and Sky was £37 per month.
Last December I phoned Sky and cancelled the channels I don't watch. This reduced the Sky bill to £22. In January I had the BT line re-activated at a cost of £125 + £11 line rental. Then in February I switched to Sky Broadband and telephone, agreeing to pay £5 per month extra for the 8Mb download speed and £5 per month for Sky Talk Unlimited which gives unlimited calls to UK landlines any time of the day or night, 25% cheaper calls to UK mobiles (compared with BT Together Option 1 and unlimited calls to 10 international destinations - I believe this has now risen to 20 international destinations. Sky then took over the line rental which went down from £11.50 to £10. I had a letter from BT which (in small print) said I might have to pay a penalty charge for cancelling before I'd been with them for a year, but I missed that. Then I got a bill from BT for £70 penalty. I phoned Sky and was told I could keep the line rental with BT. I spent 3 hours trying to phone BT, hanging on for ages, then being told to ring another number (typical of all my dealings with them). So I e-mailed to say I preferred to pay them the £11.50 per month for 10 more months than £70 penalty. The reply came that the line was already cut off so I would have to pay to have it re-activated - £125 again? - and also pay the £70. I decided it was worth £70 to be shot of BT and paid it.
My total monthly bill should now be £22+£10+£5+£5 = £42, a saving of £45 per month, so I'm very pleased. I think the £5 flat rate for telephone calls is very reasonable; could I do better with 18185 as Martyn seemed to be advising a questioner who was on Skytalk last night?0 -
Dinah I don't know much about the Sky packages and the £5 charge per month for your calls is reasonable but you have to remember that you pay this each and every month even when on holiday whereas using 18185 you will only pay for calls you make and you don't have the worry about how long you are on the phone for!0

Nice to see Archna on the programme this week, she hasn't changed a bit
and also to see one of the unsung hero's of IPTW, Justine from the make-up department, that girl truly works wonders
Martin, whats with the old phone with the aerial? you need to have a read of this thread and buy a new one0 -
