Change of circumstances - can't inform WTC people cos I failed the security question!

I have just telephoned the Working Tax people to let them know of a change in circumstances which may result in an overpayment if I don't let them know asap.
I was asked the usual questions - NI number, middle name, address etc then I was asked when I applied for WTC. I said I have received it since it came into force (can't remember what it was called before that) but he wouldn't accept that answer. The earliest award letter I have is dated 2005 but he wouldn't accept that either.
I can't give him the exact answer he wants, so I have failed the security questions and he had to terminate the call.
I am panicking now as I don't want to be hit with an overpayment to pay back.
What do I do now?

Sorry - please ignore above post - have just found a similar one a page or two back.
Panic setting in, not seeing straight!0 -
Give your PAYE if asked for it, if you dont give an answer it is a fail.
Current Tax Credits came in from 2003. You cant say "since it came in to force" you need to give an actual calendar year.
I know you said to ignore the post but thought I would reply to you anyway

Thank you for replying.
I had every piece of information they could possibly want - had my payslip/P60 etc etc in front of me but that was the one I just couldn't answer!
I will try again tomorrow, as I just can't afford to be paying money back.0
