hi, I have a small business (new to it) and I supplied goods to the value of £95.00 (small amount to some but when you have business rents and rates to pay every little counts) to a customer just before christmas, but their cheque bounced and what I want to know is is there any of recovering the money or is it not worth bothering for this amount?
This is the first time this has occured therfore advice needed, ta

Yes you recover as if the goods have not been paid for. The cheque is an admission of owing the debt. Do you have an address for them? If so in the first instance write to them asking they make immediate payment of the amount owing via a different method card or cash, I would not add charges for the first letter.0

take them to the small claims court0

You need to issue them with a Final Notice, this should state that unless you receive payment in xxxx days (7 or 14) you will be taking further action via the County Court. I would send by email & reg post.
Don't forget you can also include any money you may have been charged in relation to the bounced chq & the cost of issuing a claim (£30 through your local court or £25 via moneyclaim online for anything less than £300)
Making a claim through the Small Claims is simple but it isn't a full proof way of getting your money back.
Hope this helps0
