manager ballsing up pension refund

i know this isn't specifically consumer related but i'm a bit annoyed!!

i paid into nhs pension for a year till my contract ran out (thank goodness - i HATED it!!!). in my review where i was told they were going to let me go (3 weeks before i left) i asked my manager to fill in her part of the pension contributions request form as she had to send it off. i wanted to do it myself as i hate relying on other people for this stuff, but it's not done that way. she promised she'd send it off pronto.

a few weeks after my official end date got a letter from finance with a form asking me to fill it in and send it back. now i KNOW i did this correctly, i'm very careful with forms like this. when i got a payslip sent last week with an unexpected bonus (woohoo!) a pension payment had been taken out so i called finance.

after a bit of searching, the helpful lady at the other end of the phone told me the form had requested a transfer of pension funds to another scheme. this is completely wrong as i don't have another pension scheme. she told me it was recieved at the end of feb (over a month after i was promised it'd be sent off straight away).

so basically i've gone back to square one! they're sending another form out to me (was very strictly instructed by the lady on the phone to return it to her, not my previous employers) and it's now going to take till at least the end of june to get the money back :mad: it was meant to be going towards a holiday before i start my college course in sep. grrrrrr.

i might seem fairly minute but coupled with all the grief and stress i got from that job it's infuriating! plus i'm now worrying what they're going to be like with providing references now, they've proved themselves to be pretty unreliable.


grrrrr rant rant rant.... there's nothing i can do really is there?! i'd love to ring them up and give them a piece of my mind :rotfl:
