NTL Signal Transfer

Hi,

I have an NTL box downstairs. I have a telly upstairs that just uses an analogue signal. I want to have both my upstairs and downstairs telly using the NTL signal. Also, is there such a device that can read the remote from upstairs and then send the command to the NTL box? Obviously this will save me getting an additional NTL box.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I'm pretty sure there are such devices but if they're both using teh NTL feed won't they bot be displaying the same channel?

Yes, thats what I would like it to do as me and the girlfriend tend to go to bed at the same time so there isn't often a time when we want to watch different things (I've learnt to live with Eastenders...) but its frustrating only having the bog standard 5 channels up there.

I use a Powermid XL like this to control both my Sky and Virgin boxes from a different room.

Be careful though, certain NTL boxes cannot be controlled using these as they use a different frequency. Without knowing the particular model of your box I can't be sure if it will work.

    Information regarding that here.

Don't forget you will still need to get the NTL signal to your other telly. The Powermid is only for transmitting/receiving the remote commands. I just ran a looped through aerial/rf cable to the other telly.

Yeah, I'll probably just use a splitter and hope for the best..
