I am currently on maternity leave and I'm part fo New deal Lone parent.

Someone mentioned if you start work you get help paying for a nursery deposit and help buying some clothes for work.

My question is do you only get this if you start a new job or returning to work after 1 year to?

I'm not expert, but i think it's if you have been on income support for either more than 26 or 52 weeks.

You can get it as soon as you join NDLP irrespective of how long you have been in receipt of income support. The fund is called adviser discretion fund (ADF).

This fund, however, is not an automatic entitlement and is at the adviser's discretion, so should only be paid if the adviser agrees that these are items that you would not be able to start work if you do not have.

You can request an ADF payment either to start work for a new employer or to go back to an old one.
