Cash ISA 2007/2008, is it possible to add to it during 2008/2009??

Hi everyone,

I am pretty new to the forums, so my apologies if this has been discussed in any other thread.

My situation is this. As I am out of town for 2 more weeks and I left my documents at home (or at least those needed to apply for a Cash ISA), I am only left with the option to apply for a Cash ISA with halifax as I can do it online and I just need to transfer the cash from my current account to the ISA account. This is kind of my last resort anyway. Let's say that I open my cash isa with only 1,000. I still can add 2,000 to that, but can this be done after the 6 Apr '08 or I can just invest as much as I can before 5 Apr '08, without considering my 2008/2009 allowance??

Many Thanks :j

If you open the Isa with £1000 you can add up to another £2000 before April 5th, after that date you have lost your entitlement for the current financial year. After this date you can add up to £3600 for the next financial year (6/4/08 - beginning/4/09)
