Credit crunch isn't a universal problem, what's interesting is that it's selective in who it allegedly affects.
Yep I agree with you here CannyJock.
There was an interesting documentary on BBC2 last night about the economic crisis. The sad thing was that the credit crunch is basically hitting the less well off elements of society, yet the super-rich hedge fund managers who were actually the cause of the crisis, continue to get richer and richer.
It hit me seeing people in the sub-prime areas of America having their homes repossessed whilst fund managers in London were queuing up to purchase Rolls Royces and Bugatti Veyrons - it all seemed so unfair.0 -
Yes it is unfair. And just in case anyone is thinking evil thoughts, I am not a hedge fund manager! I don't have two pennies to rub together most of the time, and yet I clearly have a gold plated credit rating. More than anything down to my postcode and the fact I've had the same bank account for 20 years, probably.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

They really do amaze me! I've not tried for a card since about 2002 as I've been shuffling instead but suspect I could get something similar if I needed it...I keep getting offers : some great and some dire without any effort and it pretty much boils down to me being with the same bank and at the same address for donkey's years and I've not missed a payment...Ok I've been late about twice over a 12 year period but only by a couple of days and paid straight away when I was helpfully reminded by the CC companies...but I am really pleased for you Seaxwyn...nice limit! For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070
