DLA - is this a change of circumstances?

I've been taken off all of my meds and have had a pacemaker fitted due to my condition getting worse. My pacemaker has helped get the condition back to the way it was on the meds before. I have the roughly the same number of episodes and require the same amount of help with my care needs, I also still need constant supervision and actually need looked after at night as well now. I don't want to report this as I'm scared it will be complicated and I still need the same help anyway. My award is due to be renewed in December.

Is this enough to be a change of circumstances?

Talk to the CAB the DLA can be very strange the way they handle cases and if they mess up it could take months to get sorted. Please don't be scared the CAB have specialist people who will sort it out for you. Most important is your health (((hugs))).

I'd have said that if you were having the same number of episodes etc that you filled in on the forms then this is not a change in circumstances needing to be notified. However if you were on any other rate than the highest rate for mobility or care and now need more care, then it would be worth notifying them as you may qualify for the higher payments.

I also have a pacemaker because my condition was getting worse but my hospital consultant has not stopped my medication, I also claim DLA I wrote to them tell them of the change but my award was not altered due to the fact my condition has got worse .If you now need more help best to let them know, your award may be increased or given for a longer period of time. Good Luck

They only stopped my meds because they were actually giving me dangerous side effects. Thankfully the pacemaker has taken the need for the specialist drug away but there is talk of putting me onto other drugs in August.
