They may not be best buy rates. 
At least its nice to see Fixed Rates being increased rather than decreased. :j

Oh, good news - I almost went for one of these at 11.30 PM last night.
It may not be best buy but Nationwide are a pretty safe pair of hands. I opened a 6.20 6 month bond with Leeds yesterday - they do not do a 12 monther - and the rate is not the best but according to several newspapers I have read in the past month Leeds fund ALL their lending from their deposits.
Safety is preferable to best rates IMPO.This is not financial nor legal nor property advice. Consult a paid professional if in doubt.0
