    What he said..

I did this on Monday and card arrived on Wednesday! They even guarantee that if they change anything within 3 years they'll send you a new card..

Beware - Read the auction notes carefully. I have another card which looks EXACTLY the same but only makes the 'free' channels available, ie BBC1, BBC2 etc. It doesn't allow me to see ITV or CH4 etc. This is an old subscription card and is not the same beast at all.

You don't need a viewing card for BBC1, BBC2, etc you only need it to view ITV1, ITV2, Channel 4 and 5 which are encrypted.
  • NO NOT BUY A SKY CARD FROM E BAY. Too many people have been sold old style de activated cards.

Why buy them when you can buy a genuine guaranteed one from sky for around £20.

  • Excuse me for asking a stupid question but we just oved in to a new house which used to have sky- dish is still on the roof.

Anyway if I took the sky box from my brother , and paid £20 for the card , can i join up or is it not as straightforward as this?

Also i presume this is a kosher offer and not something which sky frown upon as being illegal?

How come ITV etc are encrypted on Sky boxes but not on freeview?

    Am I just being dense?
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
