Keyboard can be set in control panel, regional settings. pop ups etc are probably related to either trojan issue or you have no blocker.
Sound is his problem to resolve, if he installed new hardware he should have installed the drivers needed and set it up properly. If your pc is now full of trojans and infections I would seriously wonder what he installed, how he got it and how much he actually knows about PCs. I would think this is not a legit copy of Pro to start with. Hope you didn't pay much for this work.0 -

Did you originally have a legitimate copy?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

No i didn't, it was a refurb unit I boughtfrom mcmark online, had it over the year now and it never came with a legit copy either!0 -
TBH, it needs a format and re-install to wipe the rubbish completely. Installations infected to that extent rarely ever end up being stable after you've removed everything.
Sounds like the bloke is a right muppet. I've made a few quid over the years sorting out the mess these so called "experts" make. I suspect, and have come across this before, that he downloaded a cracked version of XP from The Pirate Bay or similar and the creator of the CD kindly loaded it with the malware you found.
One question, what do you use the PC for? If it's e-mail, web and office stuff type stuff, why not stick Linux on? It'd do what you want and you've no need to worry about viruses etc. Ubuntu is free and has excellent support.0
