Working tax credits

I sent off my application for tax credits a fortnight ago, I know it's early to be asking but how long can I expect to wait for a reply?
It's my first application and I'm applying for the disabled element.
Thanks for any info!

This question has been answered about 3 times in the last week!
They aim to deal with your claim within 2 weeks of dealing with it but it can take much longer.
You are best to keep chasing it up. Try calling them today to make sure they have it and to find out if they need any extra information on the phone.
Hopefully it wont take long but if you are chosen for a compliance check it can take quite some time.0 -
sorry the forum goes fast it gets confusing for me, I've not seen this question asked though I did see one on child tax credits which I didn't think was the same thing as I'm not a child and I don't have children?0

The claim form is the same one for WTC and CTC.
Hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones who actually get it processed within a fortnight.0 -
I was! I got my letter in this morning for my award up to today. I think I missed a trick I was expecting to get nothing until the new tax year but I got 12 days of tax credits so it must be from the day they got my form?
Well anyway I was wondering how it all works. It says I get a basic rate and a disability rate but it also says that this is provisional until 5 April 2008 when they know my actual income, what does this mean? Will I have to submit my P60 when I get it?0 -
Yes, you give them your P60 details and they use that to finalise your award for 2007-2008.0

I think I'll earn about £400 than the estimate, should this affecy my award much? My total earnings are still less than £4500 because I only work part time and was unemployed for 4 months.0

Wow, you're lucky! I'm still waiting on my WTC with Disability claim from OctoberNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130

I sent in my DLA letter, old P45, acceptance to work letter and statement from hospital explaining which disability I have along with the form to save time so maybe that's worked in my favour?0

No it shouldn't do. They will obviously base next years award on the higher amount but it shouldn't affect this years.0
