Hi
Got 2 weeks to sort out a replacement boiler before my plasterer comes to skim everywhere, so here goes
Just get my quote through, £2150 to supply and fit Worchester Greenstar 28i condensing combi boiler and re-position it above the kitchen in the bathroom, and move the supply pipes to a rad (not a big job as the ceiling is down anyway). The boiler costs about £820 so £1400 ish is for fitting etc, reckons it'l ltake 2 days is this about right? I'm in essex/Herts area
Any advice would be more than appreciated

Yes, expect to pay typically 2 to 2.5k in the south east for this job.
Make that nearer 5k if you ask BG to quote :eek:0 -
It's difficult to say without looking at what needs to be done but it sounds a bit on the high side to me (he's stated two days which is about right but the labour rate is around £100/hr and I'd say top end for an independant plumber would be £80) if it is simply running the pipes straight up into the bathroom directly above. Get a couple more quotes. A straight swap out should be around 300 - 400. So running the pipes straight up I would expect the total labour bill to be less the £1000. Good Luck.0

I dont know anyone who would do a condensing boiler for 3-400 even if it going in same place.1-1.5 K depending on extras is probably the going rate.0

Mine was installed for £340 and I know of five other people who have had their boiler installed at a similar price. 1 - 1.5K is the going rip off!0 -
My company does a straight swap. 1 out 1 in for approx £1750. This is for worcester bosch too. The boiler price is reasonable at £820. He is probably adding about £200 on the price(depends on his merchant discount), but i think the labour is over top. We would have a straight swap done in around 6 hours, but bare in mind he must flush out the system and add inhibitor to comply with the commisioning procedure. You must ensure that the new appliance is registered with corgi and that he fills out the benchmark log. You will need this to sell your house in 2 yrs time if you wish to move. Our labour is around £30 per hour plus vat, but this is up north so i bet the labour your way is double...
Hope this helps. Dont hesitate to ask any questions if ya get stuck.
P.s... check corgi's website to see if he is registered...0
