If quidco is in my name and i used my mum to bet and used one of her credit cards would it be ok?

Are you under 18? If so your mum will need to do the gambling.

For tracking purposes I think it would be a lot easier if the accounts were in the same name, especially given the volume of signups. It might not make a difference but is it worth chancing it?

A credit card is not available to anyone under 18 so is a quick way to verify that the account holder is legally able to gamble.

sorry, i've not read the full thread so excuse me if this has already been mentioned a million times before... but when i've signed up to free offers with gambling sites usually the "bet" has not been made until after the event (just in my experience and i could be wrong here)

i signed up to skybeta coupleof weeks ago (£20 free when you play £20) I put on my £20 bet and my money didnt appear instantly... i called up their call centre and was told i'd get the gift when the bet had been finalised.

so i wouldnt panic too much yet.

Right I'm confused The dropdown box on my screen says unmatched.Is it waiting for me to do something and has my bet been properly placed? All I want to do is bet on 4 horses to win at £2 each.

If you use a credit card to confirm your age do you have to deposit £2?

If so would it be possible to then put the remaining £23 on a debit card?

unmatched means your bet has not been taken. From your posts I think you have £2 in this category.

matched means your bet has been taken. I think you have £8 in this category.

For your unmatched bets to stand you either have to wait for somebody to take the odds that you offered (when you first placed the bet) or reduce your odds to the funds currently available. I suggest you go for the latter. To do that click on my bets in the main betfair view. Find the one that says unmatched andreduce the odds down to the amount next to the horse name in the centre of the screen. Then click ok.

I've just placed my bets (split the £25 over 8 horses, so fingers crossed!). I went through Quidco, which I'm also a newbie at, and my £50 has tracked already. Thanks to Martin for pointing this one out, and the others on this thread who've posted some useful info about how to bet!
