Free £25 Grand National bet

I'm a bit scared to do it. Why did you have to use a credit card to confirm your age? I don't have a credit card? Is the alternative to use a passport or Driving License. How long would this take to confirm?
I'm a bit confused as you can see.
If quidco is in my name and i used my mum to bet and used one of her credit cards would it be ok?
Are you under 18? If so your mum will need to do the gambling.
For tracking purposes I think it would be a lot easier if the accounts were in the same name, especially given the volume of signups. It might not make a difference but is it worth chancing it?
A credit card is not available to anyone under 18 so is a quick way to verify that the account holder is legally able to gamble. The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0 -
sorry, i've not read the full thread so excuse me if this has already been mentioned a million times before... but when i've signed up to free offers with gambling sites usually the "bet" has not been made until after the event (just in my experience and i could be wrong here)
i signed up to skybeta coupleof weeks ago (£20 free when you play £20) I put on my £20 bet and my money didnt appear instantly... i called up their call centre and was told i'd get the gift when the bet had been finalised.
so i wouldnt panic too much yet.Hating Hastings Direct!0 -

what are you filtering by? matched or unmatched? - there is a drop down box in the middle of the screen.
Matched means you can forget about it for now, unmatched means you are waiting for someone to take the odds you offered.
Right I'm confusedThe dropdown box on my screen says unmatched. Is it waiting for me to do something and has my bet been properly placed? All I want to do is bet on 4 horses to win at £2 each.

If you use a credit card to confirm your age do you have to deposit £2?
If so would it be possible to then put the remaining £23 on a debit card?any help?

unmatched means your bet has not been taken. From your posts I think you have £2 in this category.
matched means your bet has been taken. I think you have £8 in this category.
For your unmatched bets to stand you either have to wait for somebody to take the odds that you offered (when you first placed the bet) or reduce your odds to the funds currently available. I suggest you go for the latter. To do that click on my bets in the main betfair view. Find the one that says unmatched andreduce the odds down to the amount next to the horse name in the centre of the screen. Then click ok.The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0 -
Betting novice here, can any more experienced users help me?
If I want to put a bet on to "place" the horse, does that mean I only get money back if the horse finished 2nd, 3rd or 4th? Or would I get some money also if the horse actually won??
thanks

You asked 'where is everyone getting the £10 amount from?', and I'm telling you.
The thread is also about the Grand national and quidco and betfair!! and that is what I'm asking and replying to.0 -
I've just placed my bets (split the £25 over 8 horses, so fingers crossed!). I went through Quidco, which I'm also a newbie at, and my £50 has tracked already. Thanks to Martin for pointing this one out, and the others on this thread who've posted some useful info about how to bet!
