Free £25 Grand National bet

Really pleased - put £10 on Comply of Die at 10/1 (I split my bets - know NOTHING about horses, just liked the names!) and won £100.
With my stake return and the £25 back - which was put in at 1am - I now have £135 transferring back to my bank! Also have the £30 tracked in Quidco!
I've never bet on anything before (as I proved in the pub when I announced that a horse I "voted for" had won!) and am thrilled - Betfair offer was a great tip, which I would have assumed was some kind of scam had it not been for Martin's approval.
Anyone else get lucky?!
:T :T :T :T :T0 -
Thanks for this great post Martin. I Placed lots of £2/£3bets and won around £35 plus my £25 returned, plus quidco has tracked at £50. My wife did the same and won around £35 too, plus her £25 back, and her quidco has tracked at £50 too. Woohoo.
Has anyone tried the Free £10 promotion in the Betfair casino. If you placed your £10 and lost, were you able to withdraw the £10 credited to your account.0 -

Deposit
I presume you have deposited by mastercard? Betfair can only refund the deposit by mastercard and not the winnings.
So you will need to ring betfair and ask them to issue you a cheque or register another card, deposit some money and withdraw all the money from that card.0 -
Thanks for the great tip! Won £21, had the £25 paid back and Quidco tracked £30!!! Went to transfer the money and said I could only do £25 of the £48 in there today. That's OK as long as I know the money is there!
Just logged back in to Betfair and withdrew the other £23. Yea!
Cetrain debit/credit cards only allow you to transfer back what you paid on them. you'll have to transfer the rest back by bank transfer or on of the other methods listed.0 -
Thank you for this! Always bet on the national anyway, but didn't lose out this year for a change. Won £31 on Comply or Die, had opened 2 accounts, and both £25s deposited back in this morning. Quidco also tracking £30.:rotfl:0

Well, I opened an account with £25 from my debit card, backed 4 horses (including Comply or Die ) e.w and transferred £57.53 to my debit card this morning. Brilliant!!! :beer:0

I await with bated breath your result as I have the same problem.
Fatass - how did you work out your winnings were wrong? I'm a betting v*irgin but don't think mine looked right either. I had £5 each way on Comply or die. On my statement it says the "average odds" (which I presume is what they calculated it on) were 10.51 for the win and 2.78 for the placing.
Would I be right in thinking my winnings should be (£5*10.51)+(£5*2.78)+£10 (my original stake) = 76.45? My statement actualy shows £56.43 (and commission is shown separately. Am I missing something?
Should be £5*9.51 = 47.55 + £5*1.78 = 8.90, giving a total of 56.45 ish
I did the same thing and just multiplied odds by my bet. Thats what comes of being a virgin gambler. All I am concerned about is I made some money with no loss of money and dont want to gamble again (unless another brill offer like this again, of course....). Found it a little bit too stressful trying to work it all out.
Thank goodness its over, money is through and £50 quidco is tracked.
p.s. Havent heard from them but suppose they are inundated with trying to sort all the bets and problems. I am heads up so will not get stressed about a few extra pounds0 -

Be warned... posting a good bit back in the thread states that you will be charged £6 for the bank transfer. I have gone for cheque as it doesnt appear to show any fees incurred in doing this. might take a week or two to come through but I can wait.0 -

Hi, it was no problem transferring back to my debit card after logging back in, my account now says £0.00, so all if well.:j0 -
Money back in my account now, just took awhile. However it wont let me take it as it says i havent verified my age! Strange how they let me PUT the bet on..even though i wasnt verified! But wont let me have it back!!
Just gotta work at getting the money back! I couldnt use a credit card to verify my age as i have NEVER had one and are all wast thrifty with everything i spend! Just felt like letting my hair down :rotfl: .
Ive emailed them..i guess it might take awhile..Happiness is not having what you want...but wanting what you have!!!0
