No I didnt as he always ended with a cheeky smiley or a funny comment, and to be fair does it make paople that upset that they have to get him banned so that its one less to put their point across.

    frustrated, possibly.

And if you look back, I'm not too sure that that is the case (I will go and check, though some of the worst ones have been deleted)

The mods or abuse team clearly felt that he had broken the site rules. The only one I can think of that he broke is that he was rude and offensive.

Edit : the only ones left are him accusing the BBC of being Nazis and Magyar of being a troll (neither with smilies after them), but I believe 'ignorant moron' was used and I really don't think, even with smilies, that that could be anything other than an insult......

Out of interest you say 'people got him banned' but I certainly didn't report him. I think someone might have reported him for the 'BBC are Nazis' line but that's quite sensible - not from a 'funny comment' point of view but because as I said a while ago, Martin Lewis needs to be careful not to get into trouble for the content on this site.

If others want to call others a leftie thats their problem not mine so go and take it up with them, oh you cant because they were banned

Did you even read what I wrote?

What about if I car share, its too easy to make every point of mine valid.
That's not a "social benefit". A "social benefit" benefits everyone in the wider community; car sharing benefits your family and your friends.
This always makes me chuckle, even if you de-tune your TV or dont have one the boys will come around and still want you to pay for a licence so that YOU can still watch BBC programs, because they are so bad at their jobs and cannot take "I dont watch BBC"for an answer
That's because "I don't watch BBC" is the WRONG answer. The correct answer is "I don't watch broadcast television", because that is what TVs are licensed to do. If you don't watch broadcast TV - no Sky, no ITV, no C4, whatever - then you don't need a license, and you can tell the TV licensing people where to go; you don't HAVE to buy a license if they come knocking and you don't need one!

But of course, you watch BBC, so this point is fairly moot.

The above is thread filling fluff with no substance or use
How so? You asked for examples of quality BBC programmes, and you got them. And I also pointed out that you said you consume BBC TV as well, which is a bombshell some of the others posting here seem to have missed. If you watch BBC TV, where do you get off saying that if you don't like the fee because you don't watch the BBC?

So you know what goes on in the BBC, so do you work for the BBC? No you do not so you will never know you are now just defending something on pressumptions unless you have factual figures infront of you, How much does a cup of tea cost at the BBC? Personally I dont know as I wouldnt be so stupid to take a wild guess then post on a forum that I know the answers.
No, I didn't say that I knew EXACTLY what they spent my money on, down to the 50p/25p/10p whatever the cleaners pay for a cup of tea in the canteen! Does that even have any relevance to a discussion of the license fee? However, I do have a rough idea because - shock, horror - the BBC gives general statistics via its website, although I'm sure you'll be happy to ignore those seeing as they come from the Eternal Enemy and must be lies...

I cant honestly beleive you still have no idea what I explained to you even after you posted your gripes about paying taxes
    :rotfl:
What, that I have and will and do use some services that I pay for via taxes? The bleeding obvious?

And, I don't know if you read, but I said I was happy to do so. Hardly a "gripe".
:rotfl: This is the sort of dross I love, C'mon are you that daft that you honestly believe that?
    Yes, because it's fact.

Can you post some facts that the BBC are not biased instead of your rants and veiws. no I thought not.
Well, I've given a quote from the BBC's own editorial guidelines to say so and can, if you want, quote the relevant sections of Ofcom's broadcasting code or law; if you REALLY want me to. But what I'm REALLY interested in is some evidence that the BBC has demonstrated a clear bias in a matter of public policy or political/industrial controversy. Please. Nobody else I've asked has ever been able to provide it.
Only a shelf stacker would have this kind of mentality :D
What, a rigorous attention to the actual facts, and proper reading comprehension? Why thank you!

    idiot

Again with the insults! Anyone who opposes beeboid sub-Marxist group-think is an 'idiot', 'uneducated', 'thick' etc etc. Attempt after attempt to demonise normal people as being too stupid to know what's good for them. The joke of pretending that the hard-left bbc is impartial.

The fact of the matter is that Martin's poll clearly showed that 75% do not find the bbc to be value for money.

I know this may be a bitter reality to face, but the tiny minority of bbc fan boys, lost somewhere in 1978, will just have to accept that most people have seen through this scam no matter how much a minority may try to undermine the result.

It really does go to show that it is indeed very poor value for money

    ...unless you use it ;)

Out of interest, what do you suppose a fair subscription charge would be for all that BBC provides? All its TV channels, national and local radio. £20 quid a month? In which case it is currently darn good value at half that

and also unfair, if the 10p TAX band is now being deemed unfair how come a TV licence isnt, I mean poor families pay the same as the rich.

no tax system is completely fair. If TVL were a direct percentage tax, as income tax is, then someone working their backside off earning 6K per year would pay more than a retired millionaire with no income......

Can I be quite clear that I don't in any way think someone is an idiot because of their views. (Magyar is a he, by the way).

I do, however think someone is an idiot if they cannot manage to express those views without resorting to belittling, bullying, ridiculing, insulting and generally avoiding polite questions from other forum users. The fact that Defiant did so to the point where he was banned makes him - in my opinion - an idiot.

You will notice that one person on the anti-BBC side, Schwade, has throughout been constructive, polite and civil - and I would hope does at least feel he received civil replies.

This thread has had very little to do with BBC licence fees really, it's all been about Defiant's ranting. He, and those like him, might one day realise that if you want to change people's opinions, you're best off not insulting them the first time you meet them.

*sigh* For the last time this language makes you look stupider and more reactionary than you actually are. It convinces no-one if you make pointless, inaccurate insults all the time.

Anyway, on a different subject; ronben, no reply to my post?

So why do you still exist here? Some of your posts have been all the above, please try to refrain from the holier than tho attitude.

I speak as I find, Ronben. If you can find an example on this or any other thread of me being rude to anyone who hasn't previously been rude to me first then I will happily apologise unreservedly.

Well, I hope you don't mind if I take that as a sign you either can't be bothered to find, or don't have, any decent rebuttals to my points (bolstered by the fact that a lot of the time you simply ignored everything I'd written by saying it was "waffle" or "dross", whereas I actually took the time to read and respond to what you were saying). Or any evidence that the BBC is biased, which you've dodged providing. Nice... :D

Is it true that the BBC have stopped showing the England international games? I heard they have lost the rights to Setanta and someone else. If this is true then that is not good. That was probably one of the only things that I really appreciated other than radio from the BBC.
