Iban

I'm trying to transfer funds from outside the UK into a UK bank account and I've been asked for an IBAN. The IBAN shown on the top of my bank statement is 22 digits long but the bank I'm trying to transfer funds from insists that it has to be 24 digits long, does anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks.

  • It is up to each country's national banking community to decide on the length of the IBAN for accounts in that country, but its length must be fixed for any given country.

All UK IBANs are 22 characters in length and can't be added to. IBANs can be up to 30 characters.

Can only suggest you contact whoever is processing the payment for advice on how they want to proceed.
