I took the liberty of writing to DFDS to find out what they charge for meals and drinks on board. They were extremely accommodating, I have to say, which slightly compensates for the fact that I would be mortified to have to pay for this stuff for three nights! If you travel with them, remember to take a portable fridge with you, and plenty of provisions. Newcastle to Bergen costs as little as £49 pp, so it is not a great prize with no meals included, and you will have to spend a lot more than that on their (possibly excellent) on-board cuisine:

The time in port will depend on which sailing you are looking to do and
this differs in low and high season.

Regarding prices of food onboard, it is better value to pre purchase the
dinner buffet evening meal vouchers at £20.00 per person per meal (onboard
at the moment the price is £24.96 gbp)

If you then get onboard and wish to eat in the A la Carte restaurant you
can use these vouchers as part payment toward the end bill.

Pre purchased breakfast vouchers are £10.80 gbp per person per meal
(onboard £12.43 gbp).

A rough guide to some bar prices:-

£5.00 for a large larger
£7.60 for a Gin
£4.40 for a Brandy
£1.40 for mixers
