Hmm, puzzled. Website offers 9 months interest free handling charge of 1.5%. Call their Customer care line and they say the only fee is 2.5% (but you get 12 months 0%)
the web page I was looking at -
http://www.barclaycard.co.uk/barclays_landing/platinum386b.html?TC=QXIRC15392
Have I missed something?

Yes, I think you and the CC are talking about 2 different cards/offers0 -
Well I'm not sure why that would be. my card and the offer are Barclaycard Platinum, I applied for my card via the web. But hey if they're offering two card called the same thing with different conditions they're going to catch more than a few people out.0

It's not uncommon for lenders to offer online applicants different terms and conditions from those advertised on another site, in branch or by mail shots at one and the same time. My own bank (Halifax) is always at it. What's more, the bank's own staff are often unaware of these variations.
I haven't applied for this particular deal but, irrespective of what's stated in this forum or on the web, it's the credit agreement you signed with Barclaycard, which counts.
This may sound obvious but, whatever you do, make sure you keep a copy of that agreement. It's important to know what you've actually signed up to.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0
