Natwest Bank Charge

I recieved a charge last week of £38 because my account did not have enough money in it. The account didnt go into overdraft as the payment simply bounced. Is this charge re-claimable? I have tried looking at various threads but all seem to discuss a variety of bank charges and so wasnt sure if this was one of them.

Also, if it is, i am surprised banks continue to charge so much even though they have had to pay out so much already!

Yes it is claimable along with all these:
Card Misuse Fee (Changed to Guaranteed Card Payment Fee)
    Cheque Return Fee
    Default Notice Fee
    Guaranteed Card Payment Fee
    Paid Referral
Unarranged Borrowing Fee, now called Maintenance Fee
    Unpaid Item Fee
  • To add to this, the banks are not paying out now as there is an OFT test case judgement pending. The bank have as it stand today acted lawfully, that may change when the judgement is delivered.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
