I am waiting for the mad rush to be over before l go for a look!Several people have said its manic there -the parking fee is putting some off apparently though.Think we should get some good bargains between them.I got a till split last week in tesco for £8 off a £40 shop valid till next week so they obviously want my custom!:j this money saving is such fun:T0

what parking fee? Is it refundable?0

when are they going to realise that making people pay for parking even if it is refundable is going to cause delay and some wont bother, also the cardiff asda seems to have a lot more deals and bargains i spent £139 and got one trolley of shopping, was not impressed with the new asda at bridgend i sure hope they iron out the problems quickly and make some better offers on the products and be dam quick about it, i was one of the people who was glad to get asda at bridgend, but also maybe ive been spoilt by the great cardiff flagship they have as the bridgend didnt stand up to it, not on offers and giving away £5 off our next shopping after spending£139.00 didnt add up as you have heard from others on here that somone got £8 back after only spending £40 at tescos, i sure hope that asda bosses get a wake up call, so far that is.0

Yes, parking is refundable if you spend £5 or more and get your ticket verified at the Customer Services desk. However, reading the small print on some of their publicity stuff this week - once your ticket is authorised, you then have 10 minutes to actually exit the car park before you pay charges.
For someone on their own, with a couple of bags, that may very well be practical. But for anyone with children, the disabled or the plain slow (like me), 10 minutes to leave the desk, wheel your trolley to wherever your car is, unpack the shopping, strap children in or stow a wheelchair and/or assist the infirm into their seat, pull out, drive round the car park to the exit then put your ticket into the machine at the barrier in under 10 mins?
Call me cynical, but I feel this is going to earn a fair bit of extra cash for ASDA whilst giving the impression the parking is "free" providing you spend the £5.

The parking fee is because the land is still council owned .......
as they had to knock down one multistorey carpark to build Asda, many people would park there for going into town ,if it were free...
so you can understand why they are charging.......
but it is a pain in the @rse,esp as its the machines where you have to input your reg number
i can imagine people with a couple of kids, and in the pouring rain just not bothering lol
when i was there on opening day only a few of the machines were working, so you had to traipse half way accross the carpark to get a ticket
you get the money back at the till, when you have done your shopping ( providing you have spent £5+)
you dont have to go to customer services....
I was @ tesco extra yday morning, and it was really busy!
talking to the woman on SS she said that every day apart from Tues this wk had been "as normal"
but that some healthy competition in the town would be good
has anyone used any NSS MOCs in Asda?
i tried to use some the first day i was there and was told ( at the till) they dont take them ,any at all( i use them in cardiff asda no probs)
would have asked at CS but there was a huuuuuuuuge queue!
ps what barrier ?!didnt have to do that last week
mind you that was in the first day of opening0 -

The signs in the Car Park at Asda are in English and Welsh. The English translation says you can claim the parking back if you spend over £5.00 in store - the Welsh translation says you can claim the parking back if you spend over £7.50 in store! I kid you not!!!0
